Jonathan
Armigel
Wade
Jonathan’s style is utterly unique, both distinctive and dynamic,
whilst simultaneously entirely charming to behold. His work
appeals on so many levels and clearly when he paints, he is having
fun. His subject matter of country scenes, landscapes, horses, and
other animals, and interiors are not uncommon, but the style is
unmistakably curvispective.
His paintings are bursting with life and energy and bound
with so many witty little touches. As you will see his paintings
of the rolling British countryside could only be created by
Wade’s hand. It is clear from his work, how much he loves the
British Isles. He likes to carry a notebook and interestingly and
understandably when working on one piece, very often he gains
ideas and inspiration for the next.
After St. Andrews University and Sandhurst, Wade served
in the Royal Highland Fusiliers, leaving the Army as a captain in
mid 1991 to take up painting full time. He painted pictures for
the Royal Anglian Regiment in Bosnia and in Iraq for the Royal
Highland Fusiliers in the second Gulf War.
We think this exhibition of Jonathan Armigel Wade’s, will
make you smile, and give you pleasure and enjoyment whilst
viewing, as it does us. Just what we need in these troubled times.
